Mexican embassy holds trade and tourism seminar in Hanoi
Update :Tuesday, 8-25-2009
A seminar on the trade and tourism potential between Vietnam and Mexico took place in Hanoi on August 25 to kick start future business cooperation between the two countries.
Salomon Sacal, the Asia-Pacific regional Director of ProMexico, said the Mexican government will create favourable conditions for Vietnamese companies to invest in the country.
Hoang Thi Diep, Vice director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said the workshop has encouraged Vietnamese companies to expand their business to Mexico, one of the world’s newly-emerging markets.
Vietnam and Mexico need more co-operative activities to promote tourism as well as better conditions for business relations, added Diep.
In recent years, there has been considerable progress in business relations between Mexico and Vietnam. Two-way trade between the two countries in 2008 was up 250 percent from 2007.
Mexico imports textiles and garments and handicraft products from Vietnam and exports seed plants to the country. It also helps Vietnam train engineers to survey and exploit oil and other natural resources.
